For the Win

It gives me great pleasure to present this year’s Eat My Bomb Winter Games award to Dodongo. His successful feeding of the bomb to Half Life 2, The Last Express, Splinter Cell, Starcraft, and Star Trek: Elite Force are cause for celebration and congratulations. Coming in a close second place was Daedalus, finishing Beyond Good & Evil, Sam & Max Hit the Road, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Several of this year’s contestants finished not even one game as they were too busy standing in the auction house.

Here’s to another year of games, another year of triumph and heartbreak, and another year of thinking about playing something other than World of Warcraft. Huzzah!

I killed Hydra easily

I killed Hydra here with no problems

What a great game. God of War for the PS2. I’m sorry it took me so long to pick it up. I’m usually strictly a sports game guy when it comes to consoles. I hope to give more updates as I make my journey through Ancient Greece. Cheers!

Tangentially Related to Gaming

Sundays where you’ve got nothing to do are the sort of days where you just have to sort of go out and see what happens. I had some errands to run, so I thought I’d do just that.

Serious Sam II: Eclectic Boogaloo

Buzzsaw vs. Bomb Wielding Parrot: the rivalry continues…

Jeff and I had a hoot playing co-op Serious Sam 2 last week. A damn hoot I say! This game boasts some pretty insane gun battles with wave after wave of eclectic enemies: dinosaurs, devils, giant spiders, witches on brooms, football players with football bombs; you name it, they’ve got it, and it’s trying to kill you.

God of Caffeine

I have a little dilemma here. Monday’s cast is supposed to feature a review of God of War 2 from yours truly. unfortunately, because of a series of mailing mishaps I am only now getting the game, two weeks after its release. So here’s the plan: I will stay up as long as I can tonight to see how much of the game I can complete before work tomorrow morning. There are interruptions coming tonight, to be sure, but I will keep you posted and we’ll see how much I can get done. Keep an eye out, or Kratos will put an eye out. OF YOU!

What the GRAW?

Eenie Meenie Mynie Mo… Shoot a teammate in the back…

I’ve been hitting the GRAW this week; just a pinch between the teeth and gums. I’m already sick of that mustard brown filter over everything. The urban environments are nice, though there is a lot of useless garbage lying around and eating up processor resources. It’s distracting to see soda cans, and pieces of paper being drawn in while walking through the streets. I guess this is their way of telling me to get a Physx card. I also have enjoyed the real time advertisements for Axe body spray on the billboards. They even show up in the satellite images!

I hesitate to call it an illness

Posted by Ruckus on Tuesday, April 3, 2007

I like to think about the fact that some people go home and watch TV. Some go home and read books. I have a co-worker who skips work early to go fishing. It makes me feel better about myself when I think about how much World of Warcraft I play. I don’t really watch TV and I certainly don’t fish, so is it okay that I play WoW instead?

I’m starting to get deja vu; I suspect I may have written a nearly identical post in the recent past, so I’ll move on and cut to the proverbial chase. Hah! “Chase.” Weak irony gives me the giggles and in this case, it’s weakly ironic because I’ll be chasing much faster now. To be precise, 100% faster plus a 3% bonus for the Carrot-On-A-Stick trinket:
