If it looks to good to be true…

Then, it is. IT IS DAMMIT. So, I finally get my big screen TV this weekend and I thought I’d buy a new PS1 game to play on it. I bought NFL Gameday 2003 for 9.99 at Toys R Us. Yeah, I was at Toys R Us. I like giraffes. I have NFL Blitz from 1998 and its graphics are 50x better. I could not believe how crappy this game was. I can only describe the graphics this way. For those of you familiar with Photoshop, imagine taking an image and blowing it up 800% and then looking at it at 100%. I think the graphics for the original Artillery for the Commodore 64 had crisper graphics. Basically, what I’m doing is taking an impromptu poll. I’m leaning heavily towards PS2 thanks to Jeff’s recommendation but I’m concerned on how it will look on a big screen (in other words, is there one system that looks best on big screen TVs). So help me out, PS2, XBOX, GameCube, or ColecoVision.

Have a nice day.

I’m a big fan of sports games for Gamecube. It’s sort of the defacto if you are going to be playing games with other people. Plus there are games like Animal Crossing that can keep none-Gamers interested.

I realize this isn’t exactly suggestion for the big screen, but we have an NBA game and a NFL game and they look great on our 35″, then again I don’t believe the same quality connectors are avaiable for gamecube.

I have to echo Jeff’s recommendation: people will tell you that the Gamecube or XBox produce better graphics, but the bottom line is that the games people play are on the PS2.

If Sony fell off the earth I’d get an XBox, but I’d feel dirty doing it because I am envious of Bill Gates enormous wads of cash. And his classic Grecian profile.

I have a composite video connector for my Gamecube with progressive scan; the picture is fantastic on my HDTV.

There are select titles for the Gamecube that made the choice for me such as Metroid Prime, Mario World, Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Party, and (in the future) Mario Kart. If the Gamecube didn’t exist I’d probably have a PS2.

The PS2 has many of the same games as the XBox, plus about a bazillion other great ones. And it has decent controllers. And it’s not owned by Microsoft.
