It’s Been Fun!

Peace out, homies.
Peace out, dudes.

Sometimes, you’ve just gotta let go. After 59 levels of World of Warcraft, I cancelled my subscription. I still have until mid-August to get Brixtone up to level 60 and hopefully that will be done with some non-grind questing. What can I say, I just plain burned out. So whereto next? Maybe this will clear it up for you.

Note: I did not call them on the telephone so that they could beg me to stay, but I did get some serious amusement out of the ‘Reason for leaving’ choices on their web cancellation form. Just a few: Addiction, Military Deployment, Naming Policy. Has anyone really cancelled their account over the naming policy? “I can’t be Tits McShits the night elf? F this, I’m outta here.”

Aww… that’s too bad. You’re late for your shift on EVE.

Is it me or should after a year or so of subscription, you should get to play whenever the hell you please? Kind of like rent to own.

Now everybody is like me, only I have an extra $250 in my pocket.

Plus I used the extra free time to cure cancer and jelq another inch on my wang.

Dodongo may be slightly richer, but he will never know what it’s like to make the trek to Ironforge and see amazing number of people playing, confront Stalvan for the first time, get your ass chased down by Mor’ladim, to defeat Van Cleef and his cook, get an epic drop off of a Bloodsail Buccaneer, finally manage to win the prize in the Gurubashi Arena, spend all night getting up to level 40 so you can buy your mount, get a group together to head into Zul’Farrak, go back and pwn some enemies that gave you trouble in earlier times, spend all of your gold on new spells then borrow some more gold to spend at the AH, stare in wonder at the walking trees in Teldrassil and have newbie Night Elves stare at you since they haven’t seen a human before, yell celebratory remarks after surviving the Stockades, wonder if you’re going to get booted from the server after starting an inappropriate conversation in Darkshore, set off a few fireworks after watching Sharpbeak fly away in Jintha’Alor, finally sell off the hat that looked so terrible on you, get the jump on some Horde before they have a chance to counterattack, have your friends make you armor by sending them materials you have laying around, and stumble upon some game areas that the developers hadn’t intended for you to see.

It’s been a good run guys! Maybe we can get a few last instances done before we start the next MMORPG. :)
