In both television and print interviews, Japanese consumers seem underwhelmed by the initial game offerings of Xbox 360. I find this interesting because while U.S. consumers show more interest in obtaining the actual console, Japanese consumers seem to be holding off until the console can show off its stuff with a killer game.

The same lack of enticing launch titles hurt the PS2 at first, but they seemed to do just fine after they got a few must-have titles out there. Xbox 360 could still be a success in Japan if they release some premium titles between now and the launch of PS3. If they keep rehashing games that look like they are still running on Xbox 1, they may lose the Japanese market for good.

Disclaimer: I have strong personal feelings that Microsoft has made a complete fuck-job of the Xbox 360 unveiling and product launch.
