I wish that were the case. No bombs were eaten in the all-too-brief time I spent with the game at Jeff’s…yet. He invited me over for some Ghost Recon and made the unfortunate mistake of introducing me to God of War while he finished some chores. When next I blinked, 3 hours had gone by, it was time to go catch Sin City, and I was trying to jam my dagger down the throat of just one more minotaur.

In short, this game friggin’ rocks, and I applaud Jeff, Mike, and Tim for somehow not ripping the controller from my hands and demanding their own turn. An extremely intense experience, and in-game nudity is always a good thing (unless it’s male nudity or demon boob, then it’s just wrong).

Chris, the EMB crew supports your collegiate efforts and we will be waiting for your triumphant return. I should probably be studying for finals myself. Maybe we should all take a week off from gaming while you’re in Mexico and instead spend our time enjoying the sunshine, visiting friends and loved ones, and drinking tequila until we go blind. Who’s with me?

That’s reminds me, I also meant to announce a five week moratorium on gaming until my thesis is done. I got Jeff’s e-mail re: EMB WoW guild, but I just don’t have the time to get involved with any serious gaming until things are done. My thesis will be done at the end of May, I’m going to Mexico at the beginning of June, then I’m going to go absolutely bat-shit insane playing videogames. Hopefully God of War will tide me over until then.

One of the best measures of the quality of a video game is your own personal enjoyment in watching someone else play it. Mike and I watched Dan play this game at my house and we were blown away. We were perfectly happy to be crazed fans as Dan sliced and diced everything in his path. The boss fight with the hydra (pictured directly above) is easily the best boss fight I’ve ever seen and that was only the first one.

The real question here is, will Chris be able to defeat the ultimate boss monster: his thesis.
