Up my arsenal? Up YOUR Arsenal!

Warning: This post contains no references to World of Warcraft. Except the one I just made.

The last few weeks have found me busy with work, but not so busy as to get some quality time in with Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal. I’m happy to report that this game is full of good graphics, mad action, and lots of references to the Full-Body Waxinator and Pocket Crotchetizer.

Let me list you some highlights:
- Mini-games and bonus quests abound across almost 20 worlds
- 20 weapons (with 5 upgraded levels each) and 10 gadgets to cause maximum chaos
- Join forces with Captain Quark and his mighty Q-Force
- Two words: LAWN NINJAS!

The big upgrade to this franchise is the multi-player mode either online or with a single box. While the single player isn’t as full feeling as R&C2: Going Commando, the multi-player mode is crazy fun. If you haven’t played this series, you should.

Let me slap you with some “borrowed” screen shots: (you should look at the originals, they’re not much bigger but the graphic quality is much more representative)

Hi! My name is Ratchet and this is my wrench.

Mmm…shock cannony goodness

This is how I keep my minions in line.

I’m a huge fan of co-op games when people are actually in the same room. Is that what you are talking about?

Also, have this been ported to World of Warcraft? I already play that.

It’s not co-op, it’s versus.

Also, insert clever rebuttal regarding World of Warcraft here:

We need someone to do a post about good co-op games… Maybe even a top ten. And we need the font in this textbox to be bigger.

And I really like that screenshot of the laser whip.

This game has gotten really good reviews. It’s one of many that make me want to get a Playstation…

Mike - I highly recommend the Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance games for “same room co-op”, or SRCO, goodness. I haven’t started X-men Legends yet, but word on the street is that it has great SRCO, four player SRCO in fact!

The new Contra (Neo Contra) has gotten fair reviews, but the ones I’ve read say the co-op is great.

Other than that, play Secret of Mana for SNES or Jackal for NES (I’m guessing you’ve played the hell out of NES Contra already)

I’d like to thank you at this time for making me want to buy another game.
