Extreme Warcraft

Posted by Mike G on Sunday, January 16, 2005

One of my favorite parts of World of Warcraft is jumping off stuff. The other day I found a diving board of all things. And so the scene was set. I went down below and had Jeff just jump right off. Now if we can only get a diving mini-game. I wouldn’t put it past Blizzard.

Cannonball!

Later I was looking for some metal in the mountains and didn’t feel like walking down so I found the quickest way down I could. Looks like those little kobolds, they are like flies to Vigo.

No Fear

All that excitement made me tired….

Naptime

See, doesn’t this all look like fun? But Tim, I can only show you the door.

Two Best Buy descriptions crack me up:

- Experience accelerated fun with detailed graphics and a seamless quest system

* Finally, I can accelerate my fun!

- Play all night or just for an hour at a time

* Imagine the freedom to play a game as long as you want!

BTW - Barring paralysis or some other incapacitation, there is no way in hell that I’m opening a WoW account so stop offering the crack pipe to the recovering addict!

“I was looking for some metal in the mountains and…”

Yeah, that’s a problem. I’m down on games that reference mining in any way, shape, or form. This statement should properly read “I was looking for something to decapitate and…” Acceptible verbs also include “eviscerate”, “dismember”, and “defenestrate”. “Plunder”, “pillage”, and “defraud” get you half credit.

I plundered the mountain for metal?

The metal helps me to make weapons through which I can plunder. Is that acceptable?

Listen, unless the gathering of metal involved the sacking and burning of villages, the driving of your enemies before you, and the listening to the lamentations of their women, I think I’d rather just skip to the good bits and leave mining to the Red Faction.

Diablo online?

I always thought Grand Theft Auto would make a fun online game. Imagine a world full of reckless drivers with chain saws.

If you’re looking for somethings Diablo-esque (single player) then you should give “Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader” a whirl. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. I dropped a post about it a while ago but failed to feed it the bomb so it kind of dissapeared.
