Hmmm... I played the Halo Campaign over Turkey Day...

[Crapp.. hold on, gotta take care of some Flood... [***gun shots in background***]]

[ok done and back]

a couple of years ago, and honestly even though I beat the game, I don't think...

[***Crap some more Flood came in gimme a second***]

[OK back again, where was I? Oh yeah]

I don't think it really lived up to the Hype...

[@#$% Dammit!!! One second...]

[Do these guys have to stink soo much!?!? Anyway where was I again... Oh yeah...]

Anyway... the game story...

[ARGH... YES MORE FLOOD! {***BLAM BLAM BLAM***]]

get my point?

Anyway... So have we decided that Best Buy is a good place to shop?

[ARGH!!! More Flood! Wait! Don't they shop there?]

First off, congrats to Tim for serving the bomb to Halo. I think Halo definitely lived up to the hype. When the game was finished in 1999 it was way ahead of its time. The Microsoft buyout of Bungie set the release back and gave other developers a chance to catch up to Bungie's ideas. Even still I think the fluidity of gameplay and vast environments remain unchallenged by most of today's titles. The story wasn't too involved but I still think it was a good one. And c'mon, it's a continuation of Marathon! It sounds like Halo 2 is going to have much more of the Marathon storyline involved as well.

If you haven't already, get a jumpstart on the Marathon storyline insanity by trying to decipher this page - http://www.ilovebees.com

I think storylines are overvalued in FPS games.

"Yak Yak Yak, conspiracy this, conspiracy that. I used to be your friend, but now I hate you. I hate you now, but soon we will make sweet love. That thing you thought was your goal in the beginning is now the opposite and your world is hence rocked"

Just shut-up and drop me off at the nearest field. When something turns my cursor red, I'll shoot it, when it's not red I'll have sex with it twice, call it names, and then slap it around until it makes my cursor red. Then I'll shoot it. When it's dead and no longer making my cursor red, I can have sex with it some more. Mwa-Ha-Ha-Ha!

Tim, would you mind uploading your screenshot again? It got blown up. (see home page)

As for Doom3 on XBox I've heard nothing as of yet.

So I have to admit, I have not fed the bomb to Halo. My cut-off-my-nose-to-spite-my-face attitude has prevented me from really enjoying the XBox, despite the number of must-play games on it. I think I bought my PS2 because of its high "not from Microsoft" rating rather than because of its particular game play. That was a mistake.

In celebration of my escape from denial, here's a list of XBox games I haven't fed the bomb to (that I wished I could have) along with the people whose XBox I used to not-feed-the-bomb:

Halo (Jeff, Tom, Dinari, Dan)
Crimson Skies (Tom)(and the demo system at CompUSA)
Mech Assault (Tom)
Secret Weapons Over Normandy (Dinari)

Chris, never regret your purchase of the PS2. It is a gaming force of extraordinary magnitude. Sure the PS2 might not have a few of the graphics capabilities of the XBox but it still looks great. And the number of quality titles for PS2 outweighs those for XBox pretty heavily. If you're doubting yourself, go over to EB and look at the rack of XBox games. Pick out which ones you'd really like to play. I'll bet you come up with fewer than 10.

On the other hand, chicks dig a guy with two or more consoles so get the XBox anyway. Halo's great and all but once you've modded your XBox and turned it into the ultimate emulation station and media center, you will achieve enlightenment. You will learn jujitsu.
