I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this has "srsly" dented my enthusiasm for the PS3. I was one of those staunch PS3 fans but all of these moves make me think that Sony is willing to sacrifice functionality of the console at the benefit of price. How about instead of making the thing a bigger piece of shit they negotiate some games that are worth buying a console for?

How would you know what I play on my 360? You don't call, you don't write. It's like I don't know you anymore!

See you tonight for gaming.

<em>"Backward compatibility doesn’t carry too much weight with me these days."</em>

Yes. That's probably because you're spending most of your 360 time playing Lumines...

Those stats are in fact completely meaningful because a "lot of people" own first and second generation consoles and aren't looking forward to getting a PS3 because it would allow them to play a 13-year back catalog of games. You're an outlander. And we have your woman!

Ffej, those stats are meaningless because you (unlike a lot of people) already owned an Xbox and Gamecube before purchasing the upgrades. Some of us have more reasonable (and healthier) video gaming habits and do not have the time, money, television inputs, and/or space in the TV stand to fit a PS2, PS3, Xbox, 360, Gamecube, and Wii. Unless the companies can team up with LEGO and agree on a cohesive flat / stackable design for all future consoles, I'm going to end up choosing one over the other.

And no, that VCR isn't going anywhere...
