For the Win

It gives me great pleasure to present this year’s Eat My Bomb Winter Games award to Dodongo. His successful feeding of the bomb to Half Life 2, The Last Express, Splinter Cell, Starcraft, and Star Trek: Elite Force are cause for celebration and congratulations. Coming in a close second place was Daedalus, finishing Beyond Good & Evil, Sam & Max Hit the Road, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Several of this year’s contestants finished not even one game as they were too busy standing in the auction house.

Here’s to another year of games, another year of triumph and heartbreak, and another year of thinking about playing something other than World of Warcraft. Huzzah!

I’d like to thank the Academy, my wife Jess, and my lord and savior Jesus Christ without whom I would not have been able to beat all of those video games.

Suck it Satan!

Auction House == web sites, podcast, significant others, UT 2004, Noro Virus, and day jobs. Though for me the problem was I never got past one of the final levels in Trauma Center DS–that is one helluva tough game at the end.

My bad. I guess I misunderstood the rules. I thought our list was of games we WOULDN’T be playing. So instead I played Supreme Commander, C&C3, GRAW2, Gears of War, God of War 2, Vanguard, LOTRO, and Shivering Isles. Oh, and Black, Medieval 2, Company of Heroes, 1701 AD, Dawn of War, and Guild Wars: Nightfall. What was I thinking?

SHENANIGANS I claim! I must refute this year’s winner of Winter Games 2007. I smell something foul in the air and it’s the stench of nepotism! We always suspected something more than just the original RA to Resident relationship that Brixtone and Dodongo once had but now, they’ve gone over the line. How else to explain this year’s winner? I find it no coincidence that all of Dodongo’s games were solo play and thus their completion not verifiable by the Eat My Bomb Regulatory Commission. Sadly, it has come to this. All Winter and Summer Games competitions in the future will have to be played with a live web cam over the shoulder of the gamer for true verification of completion. That, and to make Devil’s Advocate think twice about visiting all those “research” or “boobie” sites.

UPDATE

An investigation has been launched to look into alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs in this year’s competition. Please send your cups of urine to the EMB labs immediately.

Hey man, that guy at the 7-11 told me Red Bull was made from flax seeds!
